Default How will this system play?

Hey all, just wanted to get an opinion on how this system will handle GW.

Acer AS5100-3372
Turion 64 MK-36 (2ghz)
1gb PC2-4200 DDR2 RAM
ATI Radeon Express 1100 (128mb shared)

I'm looking at it as a replacement for my current system which can handle GW fairly well, but I'd like to have a newer/better system to enhance the visual aspects of the game. Right now I'm running:

Compaq x1370us
Intel Pentium M processor 1.4 GHz
2gb DDR SDRAM
ATI Radeon Mobility 9200 (32mb shared)

Thoughts? Thanks!

The system itself will run it much better then your old one, seeing as the upgraded processor and RAM (DDR SDRAM is very slow), but the shared graphics will degrade you alot, although it will perform better then your old 9200. Seeing as its a laptop though, you will need a low profile video card to fit in it to get the most out of your game play.

What is your budget, amount and type of money, that would help redirecting you to other laptops in your price range.

No more than $600 at this time. I wish it were more, but that is the budget I get for now Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also if the graphic card had 64mb of dedicated memory (even though it's less memory) would that be better than a shared card?

Amount of memory really won't help you much, its how fast the card is. Chances are it would be, but i'd have to know the card.

Also with $600 to spend, i would recommend going to ebay, you can get great deals on pc's there.

i dont reccomend going to ebay.

if you were going to get the best deal for your money i suggest you build your own pc

for $600 you should get something like this

although you will need your own Case and OS

Why dont you recommend ebay? I've bought a few pcs off there, along with alot of other things. Have not had any problems at all and an excellent price everytime.

because with ebay you dont get a warranty.
people can disguise problems with the pc.
people with little knowledge of pc specs can get ripped off.

I guess its possible, but there are ebay stores which do give warranties and customer support like any other store would.

yes but ebay dont exactly have people with high knowledge of pc's and pc problems on the support lines.

i dont want to put people off buying pc's from ebay, im sure some are great deals. its just i wouldnt do it.

do you have to get a laptop? if not, consider getting a desktop. a $600 desktop performs way faster than a $600 laptop.

Yes, it would need to be a laptop since it will also be used for school work as well. Thanks for all the input everyone, it's a lot of help.
